MONEY MONEY MONEY

Money has something arcane about it. It drives some people crazy — like Gollum they hunt for the precious ring of power. Lately, I’ve been surprised to discover how many people are just like Gollum. Has it always been this way? Has Sauron been getting stronger and will soon return to our realm? It’s a new conspiracy theory, and it sounds as (in)valid as any other out there.

Some money madness I can understand.

It’s the madness that can seize my mind, too, at times.

The madness of not having enough money when you really need it.

At this moment in my life, I’m on the verge of falling into that madness. I do try to keep steady and have a semi-positive mindset. Yet, money issues keep popping up like mushrooms after autumn rain. I didn’t know it was a mushroom season. It’s not even autumn yet. I should have prepared my mushroom-picking gloves. Now, it’s too late. Mushrooms are already here.

I pick up one mushroom and a larger one suddenly appears right before my feet. I see a whole meadow of fly agarics. I have no choice but to clear this mushroom meadow, Mario-style. Looking at this as if it’s a game makes it easier. Games take the pressure…
