Odd things are happening all over the world.
I think what I found the most fascinating(and also scary) about the book is how masses of people can play along even when their country is definitely and obviously falling into an authoritarian regime, into a society where abuse and oppression are the key instruments of governing.
It's an important lesson for those of us who're ready to fight, speak up and defend our freedoms and rights. It's a bad idea to expect other people to solve something that we see as problematic, especially if it's a specific right that's important to a particular group of people that we belong to.
It's great that you and the people around you are defending the right to have those books in free circulation. As a reader and writer, it's something that you know is important and that you personally would suffer from if it gets banned.
