Let’s focus on helping Ukraine, not blaming it

Will we stop it together or are we going to walk away?

A picture I took today in Kyiv with flags of the EU, Ukraine, the UK and the US together

I woke up at 5 am. I heard two dull explosions somewhere far away. The air raid alert was soon over but I still couldn’t fall asleep. The fragile veil of my dreams was torn over by missiles piercing the sky. I no longer dream. I keep vigil.

Vigilantly, I played Nintendo Switch for an hour — breeding monsters to give life to stronger ones. After that, I decided to go for a run. Outside, it felt like swimming in empty waters — no people, no cars, just me and almost unoccupied space around me. My love is mine all mine.

I ran past churches, the Holodomor Genocide Museum, the Park Vichnoyi Slavy, and old trees, I ran past so many things that remind me of the past. Some historical cues stay in the past but many travel to the future. They keep us informed and allow us to improve, evolve, and be better. We have too much information available to us these days. Oh, I didn’t know is hardly a justification. I don’t care sounds more honest and accurate.

I no longer run. I’m sitting by the window in a coffee shop, drinking filtered coffee and looking outside at trees and bushes full of unopened buds.

Oh, living things — don’t we all just yearn for warmth, peace and sunlight?
