Thank you Kerry for writing this and a great picture too!

I've been finding myself thinking that, as for now, there's no much sense in trying to get back occupied territories. It doesn't seem the support we're getting could warrant a success there. This is, of course, incredibly frustrating, unfortunate and unjust— my boyfriend's family lives in the occupied region and they spent two years under occupation hoping to reunite with Ukraine soon.

It's of course crucial for Ukraine to join NATO. Ukraine has been trying to get into NATO fo several decades. At his point I believe that NATO just don't want Ukraine to join. They didn't make any steps towards this before— when they had a chance —which as I see gave Putin a freehand to invade Georgia in 2008.

Now, with the ongoing war in this region, I think there will be no less reluctance to invite Ukraine. So far, we have only heard promises which can be left unfulfilled for years — you can always finds arguments for that —unless a change of heart happens. I don't believe Ukraine joining NATO would provoke a bigger war. It's what Putin wants people to believe, but it doesn't mean that that's the truth.

I don't want to be hopeless and it's helpful to see how people like you are trying to come up with ways to move forward in this war and advocate for more robust actions. Thank you for that.
