Take a walk and witness spring

What do you see around?

It’s 25 degrees Celsius in Kyiv and it’s only mid-spring. I woke up at 6 am and went for a run that featured a sea-blue and flame-orange dawn. I shot through it fast and steady like a lone swimmer in a wild ocean. Other swimmers didn’t wake up that early today, I reckon. The air was stuffy and moist, making my nose stuffy, too. Such weather stiffens my muscles and makes me crave more oxygen. A beautiful morning, still.

It’s 9 am and I’m in a cafe/bookstore. Not a lone swimmer anymore — people get to cafes early these days. I just finished a filtered coffee — it tasted like carbon dioxide and sweet overripe mango. I assume it was anaerobically processed coffee — delicate and mellow despite its overall strong flavour. Feeling a bit nauseous after it though. It’s okay.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros is on a yellow table before me.

The sun is falling on my back.

A new day lies ahead of me.

It’s hard to find time for anything now, isn’t it?

We live in an age of distraction and, at this specific point in time, destruction, too.

For the last few days, I’ve been walking the city aimlessly, trying to just see things, witness spring, and notice colours and patterns around me. It’s not easy to see nature bloom, and turn green and outwards when you go grey and inwards. I’m okay with being inside my head sometimes, but it’s hard when you find so much doom…
